Speed controller is a very important component for test
bench. With frequency variable speed controllers, test
benches have many good features. They have become more
reliable, accurate, efficient, productive, convenient,
energy saving and compact.
Frequency Variable Speed Controllers
installed in test benches are directly from SIEMENS
and Schneider Electric (branded Merlin Gerin, Modicon,
Square D, Telemecanique), fully conformed to the requirements
of IEC standards.
Selecting a speed controller is made
according to the horse power of a test bench. Following
pictures show two series of Schneider frequency variable
speed controllers.

Speed Controllers

Speed controllers do not require preventative maintenance. We
nevertheless advise you regularly to:
- Check the condition and tightness
of connections
- Ensure that the temperature around the unit remains
at an acceptable level and that the ventilation is effective
(average service life of fans: 3 to 5 years depending
on operating conditions)
- Remove dust from the speed controller if necessary
For spare parts and repairs to speed
controllers, consult SIEMENS or Schneider Group local
representatives or their local agents.
